Unter dem Eindruck vor allem der Landschaftsmalerei der K�nstlerkolonie verfasste Rilke essayistische Portr�ts der Maler Fritz Mackensen, Otto Modersohn, Fritz Overbeck, Hans am Ende und Heinrich Vogeler, die er im Fr�hjahr 1902 unter dem Titel �Worpswede� fertigstellte. Kurz darauf trennte sich Rilke von seiner Frau und der gemeinsamen Tochter und �bersiedelte nach Paris, um seine bekannte Monografie �ber Rodin zu schreiben.
