Rapha�l Couturier is a professor of computer science at the University of Franche-Comte and vice head of the Computer Science Department at FEMTO-ST Institute. He has co-authored over 80 articles in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He received a Ph.D. from Henri Poincar� University. His research interests include parallel and distributed computation, numerical algorithms, GPU and FPGA computing, and asynchronous iterative algorithms.

About the Author
When Kelly St Clare is not reading or writing, she is lost in her latest reverie. She can, quite literally, drift past a car accident while in the midst of her day dreams, despite the various police sirens and chaos. Books have always been magical and mysterious to her. High-flying other worldly mystery

by Lynne Andrew - I am a real sucker for 'good wins against all odds when faced with jealousy, hatred and prejudice'. Combine that with the emotional roller-coaster of a first passionate love affair, fighting for survival at every turn in this fast-paced unravelling mystery and meeting up with even more unique characters within an other worldly adventure. who both help and hinder this plucky young lady's search for truth, justice and love. St Clare has opened up her fantastical imagination for us all to enjoy in her second book of the 'Tainted Accords' series,'Fantasy of Flight' and Oh what a treat! More please.

WOW! LOVED IT. This book has it all. WHEN IS BOOK 3 RELEASED?

This second novel is more complex, more exciting but maintains the easy reading style. I don’t want to tell you the story in this review.
In book 1 we are introduced to two unique worlds, Osolis and Glacium. This new and original author adds an exciting and unique twist here but you will need to read the book but I was not expecting this.

The Characters
Olina’s life is still intriguing as she faces life threatening situations in her new employment. She also has to contend with complex relationships and friendships and her own sexuality. The mystery of the veil is never far away.

There are more characters in book 2, however, I didn’t find this hard to follow and I didn’t struggle to figure out or keep track of who was who. The personalities, verbal interaction, humour, camaraderie were so well developed they felt real. I found the emotional content, humour, distress, trauma, relationship building was well done and believable.

All credit to the author who has the ability to bring to life such distinct personalities and work them into the novel.

Current Topic
Though this is a sci fi fantasy book it could also be advertised in other genres. Abuse still weaves an evil vein throughout the second book and it is interesting to see how Olina’s childhood role models have provided her with some base skills to strive and survive. The second book does a wonderful job of balancing Olina’s conflict.

To clarify this is not a dark and depressive book infact I find it just the opposite. The main characters have the qualities of integrity, honour and kindness but also highlights challenges and emotional trauma…. Overall the book provides HOPE.

Romance
As expected the romance with Jovan builds and I think the author does a great job of slowly building the sexual tension and friendship.

Mystery and Intrigue
There were some twists and turns in this novel that I was not anticipating but this was fresh and new and all the more interesting and exciting.
The ending is not as abrupt as the first novel but leaves the reader wishing the next book was available because you just know something exciting is just round the corner.

So so good!!

I loved this book! So much better than the first.

Olina is now part of an underground fighting ring and the addition of all the new characters is so well done. She lives with her fellow fighters in the barracks of the woman who rescued her at the end of the first book. Their friendships grow and it's hilarious to read their interactions! Being the only girl in my family, it reminds me of myself and my brothers growing up. She becomes a kickass heroine here and she grows so much from the frightened little girl in the first book.

Olina and Jovan's relationship is so sweet. I'm laughing at their banter with each other and Jovan (sighs) what a softie! I subtracted a star because of one of olina's runaway episodes and I was exasperated by it! I mean really girl! You could have stayed and talked to the man but no, off you go to some secret flying society. But it works out I. The end when the secret flying society actually becomes quite important but I still can't forgive that "flight risk".

More is revealed in this book and some loose ends are tied up but there are more unresolved issues AND there's an enormous cliffhanger! Which I hate but love all at the same time. There is actually quite a lot of action in this book. The romance doesn't suffocate it like some books which is refreshing.

I read thru this book in a day I lived it so much but now have to wait 8 whole months for the next book. Which I don't love nearly as much ugh!

About the Author

John Wilson received his PhD from the California Institute of Technology and did his postdoctoral work at Stanford University. He is currently Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Baylor College of Medicine, with research interests in genome stability and gene therapy. He has taught medical and graduate students for many years, co authored books on immunology, molecular biology, and biochemistry, and received numerous teaching honors, including the Distinguished Faculty and Robertson Presidential Awards for excellence in education. 

Tim Hunt received his PhD in biochemistry from Cambridge University, where he supervised undergraduates in cell biology for more than 20 years. He spent many summers in the late 1970s and early 1980s teaching molecular biology at the Marine Biological Laboratories in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. In 1990, he moved to a position at ICRF Clare Hall Laboratories just outside London, where he works on the control of the cell cycle. He is a Fellow of The Royal Society of London and a foreign associate of the US National Academy of Sciences. In recognition of his contribution to the discovery of key regulators of cell cycle, he was one of the recipients of the 2001 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine.

No solutions=no point

This would be great... except the digital edition doesn't have a solutions cd, and solutions are not included in the text. You'll get the answers to the end of chapter questions, but not the hundreds of extra problems that the problems book is supposed to provide. Really disappointing.

Great Problems along with Clear Solutions!

This was a required purchase for my Molecular Cell Biology course, which I am currently enrolled (Undergraduate class). Most of the problems that are in this book are heavily orientated around conceptual ideas rather than specific nitty gritty details. This is great because our professor assigns us the questions that will be on the problems test, but with the chance to have the question worded slightly different to affect the answer (we are not supposed to memorize the answer, rather understand the concepts that are be questioned).

The solutions DVD that comes with the book is really nice and offers an easily searchable layout to find the chapters answers that you are looking for. Everything is explained very nicely and I very rarely find myself having to go back to the book for clarification for the answer's reasoning. This is what makes this book deserve five out of five stars.

I would recommend this book to any one of my colleges, however they probably already have it.

Must Have!

Make sure you buy one that includes the CDs! some of the used ones available on Amazon don't come with the CD which contains the solutions to all the problems. Without the CD this book is not very helpful, but with the solutions, it is a life saver.
