Peter Newman lives in Somerset with his wife and son. When not writing, he works as a trainer and Firewalking Instructor. Good job!

I usually don’t write a lot of reviews and I don't have a lot of time so this will be short and sweet. I have to say that this is one of the most well written books I have read in a long time. Even if you have never seen or heard about the computer game, Albion Online, this is just an all around great Fantasy.

It always takes two or three chapters for any book to really start drawing me in but once I was into this book I couldn't put it down. The characters are all well written and fleshed out for the most part although I wish there had been a little more story on a few characters, but maybe we will see a sequel.

Well done Peter Newman!

I quite enjoyed the book

I quite enjoyed the book. I was a bit hesitant to get the book. I am an Albion Online fan, and I was worried that a book produced on a sandbox MMO would be a bit lacking. However, I was pleasantly surprised.

The book followers the journey of two groups who came to Albion to stake out their claim. However, their ships never make it to the docks and they wash up ashore. The book follows the journey of these two groups who must figure out how to survive and prosper in the harsh wilderness of Albion. The two groups conduct business very differently, and its quite enjoyable to see the contrast.

As for the writing, its often light heated and comical. I could predict most of the story, but some things caught me off guard. I think the writer's style is great and I will definitely look into other books he wrote.

If you play Albion Online, this book incorporates the world of Albion into a fun story. If you aren't an Albion fan, it's a fantasy story with a little bit of a twist on how magic works in a vast unexplored new land.

So, a tie-in novel for an Online Game...

... that usually promises rather average quality. As it happens with most Franchise novels, especially in the Fantasy sector, it usually is very predictable and on a semi-decent level - after all, gamers seem to be unable to cope with plot twists or clever writing.
So I was very hesitant to actually buy it. But since I am a die hard Albion Online fan, and I was hoping to see those promised references to players and guilds from within the game, I took the plunge, went ahead and bought it.
And boy, was I pleasantly surprised. The fact that Peter Newman a great author with a track record of compelling fantasy stories, wrote the book really, really shows. The characters are very believable and fascinating, the story pace is great and when I recognized names of players whom I actually met (or even beat) in the game that actually made it into the book, I was smiling every time.
I just hope that there will be a few more like this.

Must read!

I've read a few books on the experiences of the holocaust but this was the first. This book was actually assigned to me in college in the 80's. I still have my original copy with all my notes penciled in. I feel her account is especially detailed and memorable. Books on this subject are always heart wrenching. It's hard to step into someone's shoes who have lived through the tortures of Auschwitz. Kitty Hart is most successful in placing you there. The resiliency of anyone who who survived the holocaust is amazing to me. I wouldn't have survived a week. I believe a must read!!

Must have book if you are starting your BA career or changing roles and becoming a BA

As the President of the IIBA Bay Area chapter I meet with hundreds of people every year that are beginning their career as a Business Analyst or changing careers into the BA role. I always point them to Laura's book because it answers the most common questions and with this second edition, it is the most current thinking out there on how to shape your BA career. This book is one of the few investments in life that has a thousand fold return.

If you are interested in becoming a Business Analyst (BA) and need a smart and informative way to get started, look no further.

I made the transition to Business Analysis about 5 years ago. One of the best tools I used in my transition was Laura Brandenburg's first edition of How To Start a Business Analyst Career. Her book gave me an overall understanding of what was involved in the career in which I was about to venture. It also allowed me to say to myself "yes, I can do this!"

Laura has improved upon what was already a helpful book and added important advice about everything involved in Business Analysis and the challenges that may arise. As I read, I was able to recognize many of the concepts and challenges that come up in my work day. Laura gives aspiring Business Analysts an arsenal for tackling their new career. She also presents an advantage for job interviews with the suggestion to identify your BA experience in previous non-BA job roles.

Not only does this book tell you how to begin, but it gives you guidance that can be applied after you have become a BA begin building your experience. I definitely learned a thing or two to keep in mind for my current BA career path after reading this book.

The thing I like most about How to Start a Business Analyst Career is the tone of the book. It is friendly and encouraging, but at the same time is gently realistic. You feel you have someone on your side who tells you what you need to know, how to go forward, and who wishes you all the best.

You'll be glad you purchased this gem of a book. I am definitely glad I discovered it when I did.

How to Start a Business Analyst Career, 2nd Edition by Laura Brandenburg

Are you a business analyst and didn't know it?

You may very well be doing what a business analyst does under another job title. Explore that in this book. If you want to explore becoming an business analyst or you want to become a business analyst there are a huge number of resources out there. The amount of time to research and organize those resources could very well defeat you.

So take the "easy" way out. Get Laura Brandenburg's "How to start a Business Analyst career." Because it is a 2nd Edition she has been able to put all the writing experience and experience in coaching career changers she got after writing the First Edition into this edition. You will benefit from thousands of hours of thought and coaching on this subject.

The reason I put quotes around "easy" above are because if you want to use this e-book to its fullest you need to treat it as a workbook and work through the homework. You will gain lists, checklists, things to do lists and more lists of useful information if you do. But you won't get it done in a couple of hours. It will take more time than that. I won't claim it will take a month but I don't see how you can do it in a couple of hours either.

Laura gave me this e-book specifically so I could review it on Amazon. I suspect she was also giving me a hint. It was time to make a fresh push into becoming a business analyst. I am not all the way through this book. That is why I can state you won't get it done in a couple of hours.

Welcome to Christ Our Life
Since 1973, Christ Our Life has taught children that Jesus is the one around whom each of our lives is centered. This thoroughly revised edition encourages prayer and guides children to a deeper personal relationship with Christ. It teaches them how to live out their faith in their daily lives and in communion with the Church. Based on a spiral curriculum, it integrates Scripture, Catholic doctrine and Tradition, and the Church’s social teachings into each lesson. Christ Our Life empowers teachers and parents to grow in their own faith as they pass on to children the love we find in Jesus.

Spiral Curriculum
To ensure consistent progress and development, the Christ Our Life series employs the spiral curriculum, originally introduced by Loyola Press in 1973. The program for each grade level builds upon previous ones, following a pattern of continuous growth in depth and scope.
At the heart of the Christ Our Life program is a harmonious integration of Scripture, tradition, and action. In the spiral curriculum, Scripture is centered between the four fundamental themes of the Catechism of the Catholic Church: Creed, Sacraments, Morality, and Prayer. In addition, Catholic social teachings are woven into each chapter to encourage active participation in the faith.

The Program Structure
The Christ Our Life series uses a holistic approach to faith formation. A variety of methods and techniques ensure that the Good News is conveyed in ways suited to various learning and teaching styles.
Each chapter can be spread over four or five days. Lessons for Days One through Four are designed to be 30–40 minutes long. Lessons for a fifth day can be developed by choosing one or more activities from the Extending the Chapter or Enriching the Faith Experience section.
